The timeless elegance of Norwood Hall was the perfect setting for Kim & Shawn to celebrate with all of their favourite people.

Kim & Shawn reminisce:

Can you tell me about your theme if you had one, the inspiration behind it and how you incorporated it into your wedding?

“We didn’t have a specific theme, although we chose blush pink as our main colour as we wanted the overall feel to be elegant and soft. We carried this vision throughout the day with our choice of flowers, decorations and personal touches. We chose a style that was elegant and personal but still relaxed.”

What first drew you to your wedding venue?

“What first drew us to Norwood Hall was the beautiful character and timeless elegance of the venue. As soon as we saw it, we could picture ourselves getting married there. We loved the traditional feel, the beautiful surroundings and especially the grand staircase. It felt like the perfect setting for the wedding we had always imagined.”

What was the atmosphere like on the big day?

“The atmosphere on the day was everything we had hoped for; relaxed, romantic and full of happiness. There was such a lovely sense of excitement throughout the day from getting ready in the morning right through to evening celebrations. The perfect weather enabled us to enjoy all the beautiful grounds of the venue throughout the day. Although there were plenty of emotional moments, there was also so much laughter and fun. Having all our favourite people together in such a beautiful setting made the day feel incredibly special.”

How did your chosen venue go above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect?

“The team at Norwood Hall, especially Amy and Sarah, went above and beyond from the moment we booked our wedding. They were so attentive and helpful throughout the whole planning process, ensuring every detail was covered. On the day itself everything ran so smoothly, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment without having to worry about anything behind the scenes. Their attention to detail and excellent coordination with all our suppliers made such a difference and helped make our big day feel completely stress free and unforgettable.”

Who was your chosen photographer and why did you choose them?

“We chose Jony Dyer (J Dyer Photography) as our photographer because we absolutely loved the quality and style of his work. Just as importantly, we loved Jony’s personality and sense of humour. From the moment we met him he made us feel completely at ease and had us laughing straight away. He has such a natural way of working with people, which helped us feel relaxed in front of the camera and meant the pictures captured genuine moments and emotions rather than feeling forced or overly posed.

On the day he was brilliant at keeping the atmosphere light and making people laugh while still capturing all the important moments. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to capture our day.”

What was the most memorable part of your day?

“We really struggle to pick one moment as the day was so perfect, but the most memorable parts was our ceremony and the evening reception. Our celebrant, Neil Mellis, put together such a beautiful ceremony, that felt completely personal to us. He captured our story, relationship and the people who mean the most to us perfectly. The band (Starsky) made the evening reception so special. They created an incredible atmosphere that had everyone dancing and enjoying themselves all night, the dancefloor was never empty.”
